Carpet Fitter
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpet Fitter to join our dynamic team. As a Carpet Fitter, you will be responsible for efficiently handling various tasks related to the installation and maintenance of carpet and other floor coverings in residential and commercial settings.
Responsibilities
- Accurately measure floor spaces and estimate the required amount of materials.
- Prepare the work area by clearing away furniture and removing doors.
- Remove old flooring materials and ensure proper disposal.
- Perform cleaning, leveling, and sealing of the work area to ensure a solid foundation for new flooring.
- Install underlay and floor coverings using appropriate techniques such as gluing or nailing.
- Skillfully stretch carpets over spiked gripper rods, ensuring a smooth and secure fit.
- Heat-seal joins and edges on vinyl flooring for a seamless finish.
- Apply protective coatings like sprays or waxes to extend the lifespan of floor coverings.
- Utilize fast-track flooring systems for efficient installation.
- Reorganize the room by putting furniture back, trimming, and re-hanging doors post-installation.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of various types of floor coverings and installation techniques.
- Familiarity with flooring tools and equipment.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Carpet Fitter or in a similar role.
