Room Manager in W2

Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the room. Support, supervise, and mentor room staff, including apprentices and students. Deliver high-quality early years education in line with the EYFS framework. Build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers.

- Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day running of the room.
  • Support, supervise, and mentor room staff, including apprentices and students.
  • Plan and delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth operation of the room.
  • Carry out regular staff observations and supervisions, reporting concerns to senior management.

Childcare & Curriculum

  • Deliver high-quality early years education in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
  • Observe, assess, and record children's progress and use this to inform planning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each child, including learning journals and assessments.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure the room is clean, safe, and well-resourced at all times.
  • Conduct daily risk assessments and adhere to health and safety policies.
  • Administer first aid and medication as required, following procedures.

Parent Partnership

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers.
  • Communicate regularly with families about their child’s development and well-being.
  • Participate in parents’ evenings, meetings, and nursery events.

Safeguarding & Compliance

  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
  • Be aware of and adhere to all nursery policies and procedures.
  • Report any concerns regarding children, staff, or the environment promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
