About The Job

An opportunity has arisen for a Pastry Sous Chef to join the [Employer hidden]. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Develop and execute menus that highlight seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, ensuring high culinary standards.
  • Lead and mentor the kitchen team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, maintaining efficiency and consistency in food preparation and service.
  • Manage food and labour costs through effective planning and waste reduction strategies.
  • Standardize and implement recipes to ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Supervise procurement and inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and supplier relationships.

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Extensive experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Junior Sous Chef in upscale or high-volume kitchens.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Proficiency in cost control, recipe standardization, and kitchen operations.
  • Passion for innovative cuisine and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
  • Adaptable under pressure, with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
