Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely alongside the Head Chef and kitchen staff to plan and prepare nutritious meals for residents
  • Ensure food is prepared in line with IDDSI guidelines and meets the requirements of the residents as identified by the clinical team
  • Ensure food hygiene, health & safety, and COSHH standards are met
  • Maintain consistency in quality, presentation, and portion control
  • Support stock control, deliveries, and minimising waste
  • Lead and motivate kitchen teams in the absence of senior chefs
  • Adapt quickly to different kitchen setups and teams

About You

  • Six Months Kitchen Experience (required)
  • Care Home experience (preferred)
  • IDDSI/Specialist diet provision experience (desirable)
  • Experience working in a care home (desirable)
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance
  • Calm under pressure with excellent organisational skills
  • Flexible, dependable, and professional in approach
  • A passion for great food and high standards
  • Understanding of COSHH, Food Hygiene and Regulations surrounding food safety
