[Employer hidden] is seeking an exceptional leader to join our Corporate Leadership Team as Corporate Director of Place. This is your opportunity to shape the future of Wiltshire by driving innovation, influencing policy, and delivering services that strengthen communities, grow our local economy, and protect our outstanding environment.

You will lead major functions including highways and transport, planning, economy and regeneration, waste and environmental services, leisure, culture, and community development, managing significant budgets and high-profile projects. Your work will be central to achieving our priorities: enhancing and protecting our environment, building homes and infrastructure fit for our communities, well maintained and safer roads, and building safe and resilient communities across Wiltshire's towns and rural areas.

We are looking for:

  • Extensive senior leadership experience in a large, complex organisation.
  • Expertise in planning, regeneration, transport, and environmental strategy.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage major budgets.
  • A visionary, collaborative leader who thrives in a political environment.

You will be proactive, confident, and capable of making quick decisions in a fast-paced setting. Skilled at prioritising effectively, you will offer strategic guidance and inspire confidence in others. Demonstrating integrity, you will lead through change, ensuring the right skills and resources are in place to meet the needs of our residents and communities. Political awareness and commitment to our One Council approach are essential.
