We’re Supercharged – And This Is Just the Beginning. The AA is entering a bold new era with AI at the wheel. We’re building a dedicated AI capability, and we’re looking for passionate pioneers to shape what comes next. We’ve recently replatformed onto a modern data stack, unlocking access to one of the UK’s richest datasets—from detailed vehicle fault histories to real-time connected car telemetry. Now, we’re turning that data into intelligent systems that keep Britain moving.

This is the job: We’re looking for an experienced and influential AI Change & Adoption Lead to drive organisation-wide adoption of AI. You’ll design and deliver change strategies that ensure AI solutions are understood, adopted, and embedded into business processes. Working closely with senior leaders, product teams, change professionals, and people managers, you’ll champion the behavioural, cultural, and skills shift required for AI to transform how the AA operates. This role is about making AI stick—ensuring new tools are used effectively, value is realised, and colleagues feel confident and capable in an AI-enabled workplace.

You’ll be part of a newly formed AI capability at a pivotal moment, shaping how AI is understood, adopted, and embedded across one of the UK’s most recognised brands.

What will I be doing?

  • Change & Adoption Strategy
  • Develop and execute strategies to accelerate adoption and effective use of AI solutions across the AA
  • Assess organisational readiness, identify adoption barriers, and design targeted interventions
  • Align AI adoption plans with existing workflows, policies, and business processes
  • Lead the rollout, training, adoption, and value realisation of enterprise AI productivity tools
  • Business Change & Engagement
  • Champion the business change required for successful AI adoption
  • Partner with product owners, change managers, and people managers to deliver smooth transitions
  • Support AI-related skills and re-skilling initiatives aligned to business needs
  • Coach ExCo and senior leaders to role-model AI-enabled behaviours and visibly champion adoption
  • Culture & Community Building
  • Drive AI literacy, engagement, and understanding across the organisation
  • Build and manage a network of AI change champions to create momentum and feedback loops
  • Deliver flagship engagement initiatives such as hackathons, demo days, lunch-and-learns, and AI-focused events
  • Monitoring & Evaluation
  • Track adoption and utilisation of AI initiatives against agreed KPIs and business outcomes
  • Provide insights, reporting, and recommendations where adoption or impact is lagging

What do I need?

Essential experience & capability

  • Proven experience leading enterprise-wide change management initiatives, ideally with a technology or digital focus
  • Strong understanding of change management methodologies and frameworks
  • Demonstrated interest and working understanding of AI and its organisational impact
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills at all levels
  • Experience embedding new systems or ways of working into existing operations
  • Ability to confidently influence and coach senior leaders and executives
  • Baseline understanding of Agile product development environments

What will help you succeed

  • A pragmatic, outcomes-focused mindset with a passion for driving real change
  • Strong storytelling and engagement skills to bring AI adoption to life
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and navigating organisational resistance

We’re always looking to recognise and reward our employees for the work they do. As a valued member of The AA team, you’ll have access to a range of benefits including:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays + holiday buying scheme
  • Worksave pension scheme with up to 7% employer contribution
  • Free AA breakdown membership from Day 1 plus 50% discount for family and friends
  • Discounts on AA products including car and home insurance
  • Employee discount scheme that gives you access to a car salary sacrifice scheme plus great discounts on healthcare, shopping, holidays and more
  • Company funded life assurance
  • Diverse learning and development opportunities to support you to progress in your career
  • Dedicated Employee Assistance Programme and a 24/7 remote GP service for you and your family

Plus, so much more! We’re an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from everyone. The AA values diversity and the difference this brings to our culture and our customers. We actively seek people from diverse backgrounds to join us and become part of an inclusive company where you can be yourself, be empowered to be your best and feel like you truly belong.
