Academy Community Pioneer

The role involves working one day a week at various Co-op Academies in Salford, West Yorkshire, and Stoke-on-Trent, building relationships with community groups, and contributing to the community strategy.

We are looking for an Academy Community Pioneer to work one day a week with each at:

  • Co-op Academy Walkden, Salford
  • Co-op Academy Swinton, Salford
  • Co-op Academy Smithies Moor, West Yorkshire
  • Co-op Academy Grove, Stoke-on-Trent
  • Co-op Academy Hamilton, Stoke-on-Trent
  • Co-op Academy Northwood, Stoke-on-Trent
  • Co-op Academy Leeds, Leeds

We are open to colleagues working across multiple sites and working more than 1 day.

The academy pioneers will help to bring our community strategy to life by identifying the needs of the community and supporting these being met, with a particular focus on family support and youth work. An important aspect of the work will be forming relationships with existing community groups and building relationships between these groups and the academy.

You will need to live in or very close to the community served by the academy you are working with. Where two or more academies serve the same or neighboring communities there may be an opportunity for the same individual to undertake more than one role.

The pioneers will be supported by a regional community manager covering a group of schools. The day / hours to be worked can be flexible depending on individual circumstances. Our Academy Locations
