FULL DESCRIPTION

Job title: Support Worker

Location: Milton, Cambridge

Hours per week: Flexible – full and part time positions available

Salary: £12.60 per hour

This is £26,280 per annum. (FTE is 40 hours per week, pro rata for part time.)

The Role

As a growing charity, we are looking for dedicated Support Workers to join one of our supported living services in Milton. This role is truly special, as you will be providing person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities and Autism, allowing each to choose how they want to live their lives and enabling them to reach their full potential.

Main responsibilities

  • To provide person-centred support to the people who use our services.
  • To follow the support plans of the people we support and any other relevant documentation
  • To support all people in line with their individual communication needs
  • Assist with daily activities, which may include medication administration, and personal hygiene.
  • Maintain open communication with the people we support, their families and within the staffing team to ensure needs are met effectively.

Requirements:

  • A nurturing, supportive and patient approach
  • Strong communication skills, being able to pick up on both verbal and non-verbal cues
  • Shifts can either be long or short day shifts, possibly sleep ins and will involve every other weekend.
  • You need to hold a full UK driving licence.
  • New to social care – no problem, as we have excellent internal training for all support staff.
