An exciting opportunity to join the growing [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Procurement team. We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Buyer to support the timely procurement of prototype and project components and assemblies for the design and manufacture of our products.
Summary
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Starting: January 2026
Reporting to: Head of Procurement
Working Hours / Pattern: 40 Hours / Full-time

Purpose of the role:
We need an enthusiastic Buyer to grow our supply chain and Procurement team. An integral role within the business you will be responsible for the timely procurement of components and commodities for manufacture of our vehicles. The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a small close-knit team. We’re a fast moving start up, and a ‘can do’ attitude is essential.
Principal role accountabilities:
- Life-cycle responsibility delivering high quality, value for money components into [Employer hidden].
- Accountability for cost and budget management for direct-spend portfolios
- New supplier identification and introduction into [Employer hidden].
- Deliver commodity strategy in line with business requirements aligned with the organisation’s key stakeholders.
- Reference and awareness of technology and quality roadmaps within scope.
- Work cross-functionally with all departments to drive core quality, cost principles and process.
- Develop strong, long-term relationships with Suppliers.
- Managed supplier performance on cost, quality and on time delivery.
- Demonstrate exceptional organisational skills whilst adhering to accuracy and detail in reporting.
- Material Resource Planning with use of SAP B1
Knowledge, skills & experience:
Essential:
- Previous procurement experience
- A strong, clear and confident communicator.
- Ability to work to deadlines and demands.
- Keen attention to accuracy and detail.
- Proven commercial background / strong negotiator.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated to work autonomously.
- Experience within small/medium businesses
- Engineering and technical knowledge
- A hands-on approach. Comfortable in the stores as well as the office
- Team Player. Working coherently with other team members to deliver to the highest standards
- Enthusiastic & passionate about what you do and our products - striving to go the extra mile.
- Experience of ERP Systems – Ideally SAP B1
Nice to have:
- Electrical Commodity experience
- Previous manufacturing / automotive procurement experience
- Knowledge of niche Production/Assembly environments
- Able to understand and interpret detailed component and assembly drawings.
- Understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes and their appropriate selection.
Generally:
Comfortable working in a structured environment, but where you have plenty of autonomy we expect everyone to be high-performing and self-managing. It’s an entrepreneurial environment which keeps things interesting but is not for everyone!
Switched on and can take the initiative, you don't need to be told what to do all the time. We want people who look for problems and solve them without being asked.
Self-motivating – you’ll have full support along the way, but we won’t hold your hand throughout.
Ability to use Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook. Experience in Slack is useful, but not critical
