Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Test Lead to take end-to-end ownership of testing across multiple component teams for a commercial insurance program. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in integration testing, API/web service testing (JSON/SOAP), and excellent stakeholder management skills. A solid understanding of commercial insurance concepts is essential, and experience with Selenium automation will be considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end test strategy, planning, execution, and release readiness across multiple component teams.
  • Define and implement the integration testing approach between services and systems, ensuring comprehensive cross-team test coverage.
  • Design, develop, and execute functional, regression, and integration test suites. Ensure defects are logged, tracked, triaged, and resolved efficiently.
  • Validate APIs and message formats using JSON and SOAP, leveraging SoapUI or equivalent tools.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, developers, and operations teams to identify and resolve system-level issues and manage dependencies.
  • Establish and maintain test metrics, dashboards, and quality gates to inform release decisions and promote continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and guide both manual and automation testers, reviewing test artifacts to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Participate in release planning, risk assessments, and post-release validation activities.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading end-to-end and integration testing across multiple teams in a complex program environment.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in API/web service testing using JSON and SOAP protocols.
  • Proficiency in tools such as SoapUI (or similar) for REST and SOAP API validation.
  • Solid understanding of commercial insurance concepts, workflows, and common product flows.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-team coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in test planning, strategy definition, and driving execution to meet delivery timelines.
  • Familiarity with defect lifecycle management and test management tools such as JIRA, TestRail, or HP ALM.

Good to Have

  • Experience with S360 or other commercial insurance platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation using Selenium and related frameworks.
  • Exposure to JSON schema validation, contract testing, or API mocking tools.
