FULL DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity has arisen within [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] for the role of a cook, within a 24-bed family orientated Nursing Home in Maldon. This is a permanent role.

Key Tasks:

To control and monitor the progress of assistants and trainees and inform the Head Chef and Home Manager of any identified training needs
To maintain the standard of health and hygiene as instructed by the Head Chef
To prepare special diet meals in accordance with instructions from the care staff
To ensure a high level of service for all mealtimes
To complete all documentation relating to H.A.C.C.P
To report any defects to equipment to the Home Manager
To ensure good quality and portion control
Maintain a high standard of personal presentation
Assist Head Chef with four weekly menu planning
To carry out all general duties and responsibilities in the absence of the Head Chef
To carry out any reasonable duties requested by senior staff that will aid and assist the smooth running of the home
To actively display and promote the Company’s Values
To remain fully compliant on all mandatory training
To be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents
To promote Equality and Diversity in the workplace

Essential Experience

Experience of working within a busy kitchen environment
Understanding of Health and Safety and food hygiene
