FULL DESCRIPTION

Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant responsibilities include preparing statutory accounts, financial documents, and VAT returns. The candidate must be ACA/ACCA qualified with at least 3 years of experience in private practice, strong client communication skills, and proficiency in accounting software.

Specific Vacancies At Present

The preparation of statutory accounts, year-end accounts or rental accounts for limited companies, sole traders, charities and partnerships;

The preparation of financial documents including weekly costing sheet for cost control, monthly P&L and balance sheet;

The preparation and evaluation of monthly or quarterly management accounts for management purposes;

The preparation, reconciliation and submission of client VAT returns to HMRC, including liaising with the client to provide the required information.

Undertaking complex book keeping on behalf of clients, including processing transactions from documents provided by the client and reconciling control accounts, including bank sales ledger, purchase ledger, VAT as well as payroll and expenses;

Preparation of corporation tax returns including tax consultations;

Offer day to day advice and guidance to clients on any VAT, payroll or accounting issues;

Reviewing all types of accounts prepared by other team members;

Quarterly and monthly meeting with clients to review management accounts;

Work closely with the partners;

Accurate & timely submission of accounts, returns and other applications on behalf of clients;

Assisting in undertaking of audit and preparation of information for audited accounts;

Advising clients on accountancy systems and policies including implementation;

Fully ACA/ACCA qualified;

Min 3 years’ experience gained within a private practice;

Ability to build good rapport with clients, with a clear understanding of client expectations;

Ability to work to tight deadlines and produce high quality work;

Ability to work under own initiative;

Excellent communication skills with a ‘can do’ attitude and a strong client focus;

Experience of using Iris, Sage, Kashflow or Xero and Microsoft Office;

Salary: £35,000.00 to £38,000.00 /year
