The Chief Engineer ensures that equipment and installations on board are in good condition and ready to operate.   In this role, you will execute maintenance, ensure and improve the vessel systems, equipment, and parts in compliance with Class, Flag State, HSE-Q, maintenance strategy, and other compulsory regulations in a safe, effective and cost-efficient manner.  You will ensure that spare parts, consumables, and inspections are planned and ordered on time.

Tug Masters

The Tug Master is the representative of the shipping company he/she is responsible for adequate management of the tug and its crew, ensuring safe and optimal towage services, both in port and at sea, to contribute to the commercial and operational goals of the company.   Manages, executes and monitors maintenance of the vessel, ensures that the vessel is in compliance with Class, Flag State, HSE-Q and other compulsory regulations & operational requirements in a safe, effective and cost-efficient manner.  Ensure that spare parts, consumables and inspections are planned and ordered on time.

On board you will work together in a team of a total of three crew members (Tug Master, Chief Engineer, Able Seaman/Mate).

What you bring

  • Nautical School
  • Company mandatory training
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar position and working on a tugboat
  • Certified Engineers / Masters, in line with designated vessel & operational area
  • In possession of valid medical and training certificates, in compliance with flag state requirements
  • In possession of obligated certificates and documents relating to the local manning act to be able to sail as Engineer onboard a tugboat
  • In possession of updated STCW basic safety training
  • You are fluent in English
  • Passion for the maritime industry
