Independence Support Ltd (ISL) operates a highly respected nurse-led crisis service in Chester, supporting up to eight individuals at any one time as an alternative to acute inpatient mental health admission.
We work closely with the Crisis Home Treatment Team (CHHT) to prevent hospital admission and support individuals through periods of crisis with dignity, compassion and professional care.

Our crisis service provides en-suite accommodation, full dining facilities, and quiet spaces for 1:1 support sessions, creating a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals in distress.

## What You Will Do
As a Crisis Support Worker, you will provide immediate emotional, practical and safeguarding support to individuals experiencing acute mental health distress.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing medication support and monitoring
- Offering emotional support and trauma-informed interactions
- Managing escalating or challenging situations with professionalism
- Demonstrating leadership and guiding individuals through their recovery plans
- Working collaboratively with CHHT and health professionals
- Maintaining accurate documentation and confidentiality at all times

## Who We’re Looking For
We are recruiting full-time Crisis Support Workers (37.5 hours) able to work:
- Day and night shifts
- A seven-day rota
- Participation in an on-call rota
Essential skills and attributes:
- Strong communication skills in crisis situations
- Ability to remain calm, professional and compassionate under pressure
- IT skills for accurate documentation and reporting
- Leadership qualities and confidence supporting others
- Experience developing or implementing care plans
- Understanding of crisis intervention approaches
