Lecturer
This role is to ensure our students have relevant and targeted academic support at each step in their career at LCM to support student progression, retention, and employability of our students. You will support the College’s vision of the student learning experience and contribute to the development of the long- term strategy and work closely with colleagues across the College to drive the academic skills acquisition process for students from the Level 3 to Level 7 In Business Management programmes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities:This role is to ensure our students have relevant and targeted academic support at each step in their career at LCM to support student progression, retention, and employability of our students. You will support the College’s vision of the student learning experience and contribute to the development of the long- term strategy and work closely with colleagues across the College to drive the academic skills acquisition process for students from the Level 3 to Level 7 In Business Management programmes. This involves teaching targeted academic skills sessions in term 1, collaborating with subject lecturers on tailored module-specific and assignment-focused embedded sessions in term 2 and conducting various seminars, as well as offering in person drop-in sessions and 1:1 personal tutoring provision to all our students. You will also be responsible for monitoring the effectiveness of the academic support provision and identifying recommendations for action.
You will need to be: Skills/Experience
- You’ll either be educated to a minimum of PHD level and have significant experience of developing and delivering learning development initiatives.- Experienced in supporting students to fulfil their academic potential within a HE and/or FE setting.- A collaborative team player with an enthusiastic and supportive approach that will inspire students to achieve their best.- Able to work collaboratively with a team and across different professional groups and demographics.- A versatile communicator; able to adapt the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way, building and maintaining positive relationships with students and staff alike- Flexible in terms of working hours and teaching approaches.
