Chef
[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Chef to support the chef manager and head chefs in the general running of the kitchen. Responsibilities include preparing food, ensuring quality, following budgets, and maintaining health and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of Thai food, relevant experience, and strong leadership abilities.

Duties:
- To support the chef manager and the head chefs in the general running of the kitchen.
- To ensure the kitchen meets high standards of quality.
- To prepare the food for cooking
- To ensure that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
- To prepare the food for cooking.
- To follow the budget set by the Chef Manager.
- To ensure standard portions and quality of dishes.
- To study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients.
- To Cook food in a timely manner.
- To ensure appealing plate presentation.
- To slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy).
- To monitor food stock and place orders.
- To check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items.
- To experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients.
- To ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of Thai food.
- Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook.
- Culinary school diploma preferred.
- Preferable 3 years relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment and best practices.
- Teamwork-oriented with outstanding leadership abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks.
- Excellent time management abilities.
- Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes.
- Familiarity with sanitation regulations.
- Bilingual English/ Thai a plus.
