Junior Proposals Engineer

A superb career opportunity has arisen for a Junior Sales Engineer / Proposals Engineer to join a market leading R&D and manufacturing company who develop complex / bespoke special purpose machinery based in Cambridge. You will join a dynamic company responsible for the development of bespoke and sometimes technically in-depth proposals and tenders. This will include liaising with clients’ technical experts and project managers. Training and development will be given to the right candidate, but you must have a technical background either through academics or ideally from industry. This role would be ideal for an Engineer / Technician looking to make a step into a more commercially facing role. Requirements – Junior Sales Engineer / Proposals Engineer

• Technical background working as an Engineer or Technician ideally for a manufacturer of complex electromechanical machinery, instrumentation or bespoke high value electronics equipment and/or technical skills gained through academics (Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical, etc)
• Confident using Office 365 tools, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Customer focused, with a passion for building strong relationships with internal & external customers
• Previous experience of working as part of an engineering or technical sales team
• Strong written skills to produce technical specifications and quotations
• Ability to work under pressure to tight timescales and juggle multiple priorities
• Solid organisational skills including attention to detail
• Methodical working approach and comfortable with data/ numbers
• The desire to continually learn and develop
• Ability to read and produce drawings using either SolidWorks or AutoCAD would be a distinct advantage.
