FULL DESCRIPTION

Software Architect - Cambridgeshire. Salary: £70k - £100k + bonus + excellent benefits!

Requirements of Software Architect - High Technology R&D:

  • Minimum BEng/BSc degree in Computer Science or Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Proven recent and relevant experience defining system architect and high-level product specifications to create robust, scalable, and secure solutions with familiarity with OPC-UA, GAMP5, and software for GMP applications.
  • Have identified requirements and worked with connectivity to 3rd party systems, both local and cloud based, for manufacturing control systems.
  • Utilised appropriate tools and methodologies to define software requirement specifications and architecture.
  • Led development teams to select implementation technologies and establish quality assurance processes aligned with architecture.
  • Ensured consistency of development progress with initial design, adapting architecture and plans as needed.
  • Experience in commercial software development and coding (e.g. C, C++, C# (.NET), Python, JavaScript)
  • Desirable: Experience in working with PLCs in process control environments
  • Desirable: Application software (industrial automation, networking protocols, UI frameworks, IT systems)
  • Desirable: Experience in developing software for communications protocols including OPC-UA, MQTT, REST
  • Desirable: Experience developing software in regulated, process-control industries
