FULL DESCRIPTION

Graduate Electronics Engineer - Security & Defence - South Cambridgeshire. £30-£40k + benefits.

A fast growing and dynamic Cambridge based electronics R&D company, who are developing next generation software and hardware cyber security and homeland defence solutions, are currently seeking an outstanding 2023/2024 Graduate Electronics Engineer with particular interest in Cyber security, AI / ML, Autonomous Systems, Algorithms & Signal Processing. The ideal candidate will have a 1st or 2.1 MEng (or perhaps a PhD) from a Russell Group university, along with excellent A-Levels. The Electronics graduate will also need a broad range of hands-on electronics design skills covering digital design, analog electronics and ideally some embedded software, together with an understanding of underlying physics and maths of a system.

To be considered for the role of Graduate Electronics Engineer you would need the following:

Education

  • Degree: 2.1 or 1st class MEng in Electronics Engineering (or perhaps Computer Science)
  • Good A-Levels (or equivalent) - typically A/B grades minimum

Essential skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of Electronics - including digital design (FPGAs, discrete logic), Analogue Design (low power amplifiers, signal conditioning, PSUs)
  • Excellent maths and physics with the ability to understand and analyse the fundamentals of often highly complex systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal English with the ability to communicate conclusions in a clear and concise manner
  • Ideally, skills in embedded Software (C/C++/C# and perhaps Python, R etc)
  • Ideally, exposure to PCB layouts and design tools such as Verilog VHDL

Due to the nature of the role you must be able to obtain UK Security Clearance.

Our view: This is a superb opportunity for a recent Electronics Graduate to apply their design skills in a commercial organisation. This is a job where you will get the satisfaction of seeing your efforts turned into actual physical products that will seem almost like science-fiction today but will be in everyday use in the near future. All this in a highly stimulating and challenging environment where no two days are the same, where innovation is recognised and rewarded with excellent pay and benefits plus superb long-term career potential. Graduate positions really don't come any better!

Job Location: South Cambridgeshire (commutable from Cambridge, Royston, Newmarket, Harlow, Stevenage etc)
