We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Technical Project Manager to join a state-of-the-art R&D company based in North Cambridgeshire. They currently work across a plethora of different cutting-edge development projects across industries such as Medical Devices, Consumer Electronics, Automation, Wireless Communications, IoT, Robotics, autonomous tech, etc. This role will be joining their team to bolster and lead their work within the Printing industry. This role will suit a hands-on Digital Deposition or Industrial Inkjet Engineer or even an Applied Scientist to join their stimulating and open environment whilst finding creative and pragmatic solutions to difficult technical problems within the printing sector. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for liaising with clients, whilst organising the project teams, offering their technical expertise to propose and implement solutions to clients’ requirements. Taking full responsibility for the proposal scope, costing and writing whilst supporting Business Development to identify opportunities for new business within the company’s capabilities. This is truly and excellent opportunity for someone to put forward and promote their ideas whilst developing their own knowledge and skillset and that of others. Being the go-to-contact for clients and internal teams alike – being the subject matter expert within the Printing arena. The Technical Project Manager will need the following skills and experience:
- A degree in a relevant technical degree, such as mechanical engineering or physics.
- Experience of working hands-on with digital printing hardware, such as industrial inkjet.
- In-depth knowledge of the science and engineering behind industrial inkjet printing and its applications.
- Recent and relevant experience within a Technical Project Manager role, within a new product development environment.
- Commercial awareness, knowing where this particular market (digital deposition) can go in future.
- Creative technical problem solving
- A good mentor – enabling the growth of less experienced team members to learn from you.
