Health, Safety and Environment Manager - Bedfordshire. Salary: £55k - £65k (dep on exp) + excellent benefits!

A brand-new opportunity has arisen for a SHE Manager to join a well-established engineering R&D company based in Bedfordshire. The company is focussing on developing brand-new disruptive technology to help revolutionise high precision engineering industries such as Aerospace, Space, Defence, Automotive and more!

This would suit a NEBOSH qualified HSE / SHE Manager who is looking to make a real impact helping to run an R&D and manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for leading the SHE function and for the overall management of a small team with the aim of raising the profile of the SHE management throughout the organisation and promoting it as a fundamental aspect within it.

You will be responsible for the SHE aspects of the operation and development of the site and, through application of continuous improvement, increase the safety of the plant.

The SHE Manager will need the following skills and experience:

  • Recent and relevant experience working as a SHE Manager / Health, Safety &Environment Manager.
  • NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
  • Level 5 NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practice
  • Level 6 NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health and Safety
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management
  • Safety, Health and/or Environmental Honours Degree (Bachelors or Higher) or an equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
  • 5 years of experience post-qualification applying SHE knowledge and processes in work-related situations
  • Experience of reporting SHE status and improvements plans at Board level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Hours of Works: Monday to Friday: 8am to 4:30pm.

Due to the nature of the work done on site the successful candidate must satisfy the requirements to gain SC Clearance, which includes having continual UK residency for the last 5 years.
