Job Description

A brand-new opportunity has arisen for a Technical Project Manager to join a well-established engineering R&D company based in Bedfordshire. The company is focussing on developing brand-new disruptive technology to help revolutionise high precision engineering industries such as Aerospace, Space, Defence, Automotive and more! We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager who can lead the successful delivery of business improvement and R&D development projects in close cooperation with the Project Technical Managers. You will be working on multiple complex projects from conception through to completion.

This would suit an experienced Project Manager or even a Senior Project Engineer looking to take their next step; with experience managing complex projects and projects on an industrial or manufacturing site. The ideal candidate would have experience within a fast-moving production/manufacturing or industrial engineering environment dealing with clients and internal personnel alike.

Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate will need to satisfy security clearance requirements – British passport including continual UK residency for the last 5 years.

The Technical Project Manager must have the following skills and experience:

  • University honours degree or equivalent and experience in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
  • Recent and relevant experience in a project manager/engineer role managing projects within an industrial manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • A project management qualification is beneficial, however demonstrated experience managing complex projects is more important so this should not be a bar for candidates who are clearly capable.
  • Proven experience of project leadership, including clear communications with all stakeholders.
  • The ability to understand a technical narrative in unfamiliar disciplines with guidance from technical experts.
  • Excellent communications skills using spoken and written English.
