Role Summary
MEC is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join our team to focus on Islamic character-building. The teacher will teach the Ilm2Amal syllabus – a full curriculum focusing on character development and community responsibility, integrating Islamic values with practical life skills through experiential learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the Ilm2Amal curriculum to year 3 aged students
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages active learning, critical thinking, and social responsibility.
- Organise and oversee initiatives that apply classroom teachings to real-world contexts.
- Engage with parents to support their children’s character development at home.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions provided by Ilm2Amal.
- Attend training sessions and CPD.
Qualifications and Requirements
- ✅ English speaking (UK born preferably)
- ✅ Excellent class control and time management
- ✅ Tech Proficiency: Competence with using educational technology
Desirable/Preferred Qualifications
- ✅ Degree in Education, Islamic Studies, or a related field.
- ✅ Qualified ‘Alim or ‘Alimah
- ✅ Previous experience in teaching, especially within Islamic educational settings, is highly desirable.
- ✅ Teaching certification is preferred but not mandatory.
