Senior DevOps Engineer
Responsible for implementing and supporting improvements, efficiency, enhancing software quality, and accelerate delivery times. Having the shared responsibility between development/operations with a focus on people, process, tolls that take a unified customer/user focus. In a multi-disciplinary team with Development, QA, IT Operations, Infosec, UCD etc. all working together to achieve a common goal of applying best practice in DevOps.
Key Responsibilities
- Extensive experience of DevOps tooling, containers and containerisation
- Communication: Able to speak to stakeholders and be able to transfer business requirements into technical implementation
- Facilitate information/business knowledge: Able to act as a business SME and understand what the business needs and how to support this into an efficient DevOps team.
- Stakeholder Management: Able to negotiate and influence with stakeholders to ensure the service runs effectively and efforts are placed correctly.
Qualifications
- 5+ Years as a DevOps Engineer
- Strong knowledge in AWS and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance
- Practical experience using Terraform, Kubernetes and Helm
- Knowledge of Java(spring) is ideal
- Extensive experience of cloud computing, and best practices/emerging technologies
- Experienced with multiple eco-system databases, architecture and integrations
- Knowledge of GitLab, Bash scripting, ArgoCD, Kafka or Liquibase is beneficial but not a must-have
- Embracing automation and implement CI/CD to improve quality and minimise downtime
- Proactive monitoring and effective incident response to detect and efficiently resolve issues
- Focussing on continuous improvement, fast feedback, high empathy and trust
- Defining ways of working that aligns to standards and best practice.
