Acoustic Consultant

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Ltd is an established acoustics consultancy with a close-knit team of consultants and technicians operating nationally. We offer professional advice and monitoring services, to the construction industry, for a range of issues concerning acoustics, noise and vibration.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a good degree (or equivalent) in an engineering, physical sciences, or mathematics discipline; be a member of the Institute of Acoustics; and be able to demonstrate a proficient, technical understanding of the subject. A higher degree in an acoustics-related discipline and MatLab is desirable but not essential. Successful applicants will possess a good knowledge of UK acoustic legislation, policy and standards. They will also have a track record in project management and an ability to build strong client relationships. Ideally, candidates should also have experience working in environmental noise and vibration, in the construction sector.

Key responsibilities and duties

This role requires a flexible approach to working and an ability to manage your own time. It is split 50/50 for site work and office/meetings. You will be working on a range of client-based projects and should expect to spend most of your time conducting acoustic testing and analysing, and reporting on test results. Main activities will include:

  • Undertaking noise surveys and modelling
  • Carrying out project administration
  • Using modelling software to predict noise from a variety of sources
  • Supporting senior consultants

What we offer

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary package, commensurate with qualifications and experience, (including a company car, bonus, pension scheme, and 20 days annual leave). We also offer opportunities for professional development.

We are committed to providing equality of opportunity in all areas when dealing with staff, whether in recruitment and selection, promotion or training and professional development.
