Care Home Housekeeper Job

Main purpose of job

- To ensure standards of cleanliness for Patrons’ care are maintained at all times.

Main responsibilities

- To maintain a high standard of care and comfort for Patrons, in line with their individual care plans.

Main duties

• Follow the allocated cleaning schedule for all areas of the Home.
• Ensure correct use of equipment and cleaning materials.
• Manage and replenish stock levels of paper towels, toilet tissue and detergents etc as well as preparing the trolleys.
• Ensure safe and correct use and storage of all cleaning and washing materials, in line with COSHH regulations.
• Monitor stock levels and review weekly, to avoid loss or abuse.
• Provide adequate ventilation to all areas and unsure lights and appliances are switched off when not in use.
• Report repairs and maintenance issues to management.

NB: This job description may be amended to reflect changing needs of the Service.  This will be done in consultation with and agreed by the individuals concerned.
