FULL DESCRIPTION
Join us as an Electrical Construction Engineer at Hinkley Point C! Lead electrical installations, ensure safety compliance, solve challenges, and drive project success in a dynamic nuclear environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Coordination: Oversee the installation of electrical systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Technical Oversight: Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and method statements to ensure correct implementation.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all electrical work complies with UK nuclear regulatory standards, CDM regulations, and project quality requirements.
- HSE Compliance: Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, identifying and mitigating potential risks on-site.
- Progress Monitoring: Track and report construction progress, addressing any delays or issues that may impact project timelines.
- Issue Resolution: Identify technical and construction challenges and work with design and construction teams to implement solutions.
- Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with subcontractors, client representatives, and other engineering disciplines to ensure alignment and integration of works.
- Testing & Commissioning Support: Assist in pre-commissioning activities
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in electrical construction within the nuclear sector, preferably on large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of nuclear safety standards,
- Experience working in a highly regulated construction environment, ideally within a nuclear power plant project.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work on-site in a dynamic and fast-paced construction environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of HV/LV power distribution systems, grounding, and cable management.
- Previous experience working with international teams and subcontractors.
- Knowledge of 3D BIM modeling and digital engineering tools is advantageous.
