Join us as an Electrical Construction Engineer at Hinkley Point C! Lead electrical installations, ensure safety compliance, solve challenges, and drive project success in a dynamic nuclear environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision & Coordination: Oversee the installation of electrical systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Technical Oversight: Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and method statements to ensure correct implementation.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure all electrical work complies with UK nuclear regulatory standards, CDM regulations, and project quality requirements.
  • HSE Compliance: Enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, identifying and mitigating potential risks on-site.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track and report construction progress, addressing any delays or issues that may impact project timelines.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify technical and construction challenges and work with design and construction teams to implement solutions.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with subcontractors, client representatives, and other engineering disciplines to ensure alignment and integration of works.
  • Testing & Commissioning Support: Assist in pre-commissioning activities

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in electrical construction within the nuclear sector, preferably on large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear safety standards,
  • Experience working in a highly regulated construction environment, ideally within a nuclear power plant project.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in a dynamic and fast-paced construction environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of HV/LV power distribution systems, grounding, and cable management.
  • Previous experience working with international teams and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of 3D BIM modeling and digital engineering tools is advantageous.
