###### Compliance Officer (Legal Services)

JOB DESCRIPTION

- Develop Legal and Compliance strategies for the College. - Draft, review and negotiate legally binding documents suitability for adoption by the College, with overall responsibility for updating documents for the College’s operations within a legal framework; - Develop optimised structures and processes for the provision of legal, data protection, data management and information governance services within the College; - Overseeing delivery and day-to-day management of the College’s legal and compliance operations. - Develop appropriate policies to ensure the Legal and Compliance Services function remains focused on the optimisation of its service delivery; - Proactively provide counsel and recommendations to colleagues and stakeholders on legal and compliance matters, meeting the College’s needs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Ideal Candidate must possess a Master’s degree in Law (LLM) with a minimum of five years of working experience and strong evidence of continuous professional development.

Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in Law and a minimum of 7 years experience of working in an academic environment and working closely with academic staff may also be considered.

Required skills include:

  • Ability to inspire confidence in and influence, senior stakeholders and management
  • Must consistently display professional ethics in handling confidential matters.
  • Proven track record in management within a tertiary education environment
