FULL DESCRIPTION

Vacancies exist for lecturers with no Qualified Teaching Status but with a verifiable plan to attain the status within deadline permitted.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will work for 35 hours per week and shall perform the following job functions:

  • Preparing lectures, slides, handouts, exercises, and other materials, as well as conducting seminars, tutorials, workshops in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.
  • design and deliver courses that are relevant, engaging, and challenging for the students.
  • Setting and marking assignments, exams, projects, and dissertations, as well as providing feedback and guidance.
  • Ensure that module design and delivery comply with curriculum and academic standards.
  • Conduct individual research or work on collaborative research projects.
  • Be responsible for administrative duties in areas such as admissions, timetabling, examinations, student attendance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Candidate for this job must have either PhD degree with 2 years cognate experience in Further Education or Masters Degree with 5 years academic experience showing readiness to progress to higher qualification or attain QTS or HEA in the UK. Excellent communication skill as well experience of curriculum development is necessary.

Other requirements include:

  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards obtaining.
  • Possess and maintain sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline and of teaching methods and techniques to work within established teaching programmes in own area.

  • Evidence of engagement in continuous professional development.
  • Ability to engage the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them to learn.

Familiarity with a variety of strategies to promote and assess learning.
