Vacancy exists for Librarian

JOB DESCRIPTION

- Supervising daily library operations

- Keeping abreast with current trends and  publications in the library and publications industry.

- Organise library resources in an accessible way.

- Develop the use of IT to improve service delivery

- Handle enquiries and help library users in accessing IT and other resources.

- Organising and distributing reference materials and information, checking materials in and out of the library

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate must possess a Masters in Librarianship or Information Science / Management with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

Candidates with a first degree accredited by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP), or a degree in Education plus a CILIP-accredited postgraduate diploma with 5 years experience may be considered.

Suitable candidates must be approachable, flexible, a good team player and hardworking.

Required skills include:

  • Strong IT skills and understanding of digital applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work
  • The ability to think creatively is essential
  • Organisational and self-management skills
