[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is a small, dynamic, technology company, designing and manufacturing a range of specialist acoustic subsea sensors, sold internationally into offshore, search-and-rescue and military markets.

The company is looking to recruit a “Business Systems Software Developer” to join our team, who will be responsible for developing custom functionality and implementing software systems for managing in-house manufacturing and business processes using the ‘Odoo’ Enterprise/Material Requirements Planning (ERP) platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop custom modules and features within the companies ERP/MRP platform.
  • Implement software systems to capture, improve, migrate or streamline manufacturing and business processes.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Python and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement (sales, marketing, supply chain, logistics, etc.)
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Provide internal technical support and troubleshoot issues as needed.

Required Skills and Qualitifcations:

  • Experience with Python and JavaScript programming.
  • Understanding of client/server data models.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and comfortable using spreadsheets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, preferably Odoo.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages commonly used for web-application development (e.g. PHP, C# etc.)
  • Knowledge of data query and manipulation techniques (e.g. SQL, PowerQuery, ODBC interfaces etc.)
  • Familiarity with Git or version control systems.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or business process environment.
