FULL DESCRIPTION

Full time or part time available. Hours/days can be flexible to suit. Weekend work required, no evenings. £12.60 per hour + benefits. Benefits include: Staff discounts on most retail, food & beverage. Paid lunch breaks (lunch provided) Generous employer pension contributions for eligible employees.

Working in our busy table service café bar, duties include*:

  • Table service of hot and cold beverages, lunches and home baking
  • Service of our full range of single malt whiskies, maintaining a reasonable level of product knowledge.
  • Barista-style coffee making
  • Accurate order taking & payment handling.
  • Table clearing, cleaning and dishwashing.
  • Maintaining all café & coffee bar areas with regards to cleanliness, food hygiene and health & safety in line with departmental standard operating procedures and the Food Safety Policy.
  • Assisting with deliveries, stock control and stock rotation.
  • Use of IT systems for till transactions and table booking system.
  • Assisting with cleaning of other Visitor Centre areas (toilets, floors etc) on a rota basis.

Experience and attributes required:

  • Previous experience of working in a customer service role.
  • A pro-active approach and genuine desire to provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Ability to work equally well independently and as part of the team.
  • Attention to detail and can-do attitude.
  • Adaptability to meet wide-ranging customer and team needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • A reasonable level of physical fitness (long periods spent on feet, ability to help deal with deliveries, etc.)

An advantage:

  • Food Hygiene certificate
  • Food Allergy Training/knowledge of food allergens*
  • Barista experience*

* Training will be provided in all of these areas.

All posts may involve a level of cross-training across different departments in order to maintain consistently high levels of customer service throughout the Visitor Centre.
