Job Description

Join [Employer hidden] and help shape the future of business finance

We’re on a mission to help small businesses take control of their financial health, from understanding their credit profile to accessing the funding they need to grow confidently.

Since 2016, we’ve supported over 200,000 businesses and facilitated more than £2 billion in approved funding through our platform. As we scale, we’re growing our Revenue team and are looking for a Funding Specialist to help UK businesses secure capital to grow in confidence.

Why this role matters

You’ll be joining the heart of Capitalise’s funding operations, the team that turns funding searches into funding success stories.

Working closely with our Head of funding, partnership managers, lenders, and small business clients, you’ll manage end-to-end funding journeys: identifying the right finance products, maintaining momentum across stakeholders, and delivering a world-class experience throughout.

This role isn’t just about one deal. It’s about building trust, providing clarity in an often complex landscape, and helping small businesses achieve more by giving them the funding tools they need.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own the funding journey: manage deals from handover to close (funded or not)
  • Act as the glue between all stakeholders — including business owners, accountants, lenders, and our internal teams
  • Deliver clear, timely updates across the funding journey — especially at key moments like lender offers or declines
  • Use your knowledge of commercial finance products to assess and present the best options to our customers
  • Maintain your pipeline and update milestones in Salesforce with rigour and clarity
  • Manage relationships with lenders, keeping up to date on their products, processes, and appetite
  • Ensure lender information on our platform is accurate, up to date, and aligned with our strategic goals
  • Represent Capitalise at lender events and identify opportunities for deeper collaboration
  • Contribute insights to improve our product, marketing, and education efforts

What you will learn

  • How to navigate the full spectrum of commercial finance: from working capital to asset finance
  • How to influence stakeholders across a complex transaction — from accountants to managing directors
  • How to build a trusted advisor mindset and deliver standout service under pressure
  • What’s really happening in the UK lending eco-system, and how to spot emerging trends before anyone else
  • How to use data and tech to streamline and scale relationship-led funding support
  • Ways to improve cross-functional collaboration between partnerships, product, and marketing]

Who you are

  • You have hands-on experience in commercial finance, ideally within a lender or brokerage environment
  • You’re a clear and confident communicator — both in writing and in person
  • You’re experienced at managing stakeholders and influencing decisions across multiple touchpoints
  • You enjoy working at pace, under pressure, and with lots of moving parts
  • You’re curious, resilient, and have a problem-solving mindset
  • You believe in the impact small businesses can make — and want to help them grow
  • You have the right to work in the UK

Nice to have

  • Specialist knowledge in one or more product areas: e.g. asset finance, invoice finance, or working capital
  • Familiarity with CRMs like Salesforce and communication tools like Slack and Aircall
  • Exposure to high-volume deal management or relationship-led financial sales
  • Experience working within a fintech, lender, or startup environment

At [Employer hidden], we value diverse perspectives and experiences. If you don’t meet 100% of the requirements but believe you’re the right fit for this role, we encourage you to apply.

What you’ll get

  • Competitive salary + benefits
  • Hybrid working with Central London office + flexible home days + work abroad
  • Office perks: snacks, barista-made coffee, and regular team socials
  • Medicash health plan
  • 25 days holidays a year + An additional day for your birthday
  • Opportunity to grow quickly in a collaborative, supportive team environment
  • A learning & development budget to invest in your personal and professional growth
  • Cycle to Work Scheme
