About the Role
[Employer hidden] provides drainage asset and data management and a mapping survey service to the Highways business sector across the whole of the UK. This service is to locate and determine the condition of the drainage assets and infrastructure on the UK motorways and carriageways. The Water Management division conducts trenchless repairs and remediation works to the drainage network.
The successful candidate will be working as part of the Water Management Operations Team, assisting in scheme management from tender stage to post completion.
What You’ll Do
As a Contract Manager, you’ll:
- Ensure the safe execution of all assigned works in compliance with our SHEQ Management systems, ensuring the wellbeing of workers, sub-contractors, site visitors and the public.
- Regularly composing and reviewing all essential health and safety documentation such as construction phase plans, RAMS, and job packs.
- Foster the development of efficient and productive works teams, inspiring individuals to achieve targets.
- Accurately programming / planning of available resources and materials in a fast-paced, often changing environment to maximise delivery.
- Ability to draft works programs in accordance with NEC requirements.
- Engage with clients and cultivate strong business relationships.
- Conduct site visits prior to tendering and provide reports to the commercial department for pricing purposes.
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting site drawings and specifications.
- Identify temporary works items on projects and establish a register for temporary work.
- Supervise and verify temporary works elements in accordance with prepared designs.
- Independently generate and compile comprehensive records to complete scheme Health and Safety files, and place our Commercial Team in the best possible position to prepare applications and identify additional works.
- Display a thorough understanding of Inspection and Test Plans.
- (ITPS) and their role in matching quality control on site.
- Take overall responsibility for the Featherstone Depot, the stores staff and stock control (this may also extend to site compounds).

Qualifications and Experience
- Degree, HNC or HND – Civil Engineering.
- NVQ Level 6 or 7 Construction Management.
- CSCS Manager Card.
- SMSTS.
- Confident using Microsoft Project, Excel and other computer packages.
- Previous experience in a similar role in the Highways/Civil Engineering industry.
- NRSWA Accreditation – Desirable.
