Technical Sales Engineer
Home-based (any UK location) | Full-time, permanent
Work with the company customers turn to when quality, reliability and capability genuinely matter.
[Employer hidden] is a leading manufacturer of premium automatic labelling machinery and associated product handling solutions. Our systems are specified by major household brands and blue-chip companies, not because of marketing flair, but because our equipment consistently delivers exceptional reliability, industry-leading features, long working life and minimal ongoing costs.
We are currently experiencing sustained, high demand for our technology across multiple sectors. As a result, we are strengthening our sales capability with someone who can confidently represent a genuinely first-class product range.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to succeed with a company that is already successful – where the strength of the product, depth of engineering expertise and reputation in the market all work in your favour.
---
Why this role matters
The most challenging part of this position is not persuading customers to choose ALTech – our equipment often does that for you.
The real challenge is fully understanding the breadth of what ALTech can offer, and being able to translate this into the correct technical solution for each customer application.
No other UK labelling machinery supplier combines our quality, application flexibility, technical features and value for money. Representing us effectively means being able to convey this clearly, confidently and professionally.
---
The role
Working from a home base anywhere in mainland UK, you will manage the full technical sales process: from initial enquiry and application assessment through to specification, quotation, demonstration and project handover.
The role includes regular customer visits, detailed site surveys and scheduled trips to our Bridgend workshop and to ALTech’s Italian headquarters for training and machine sign-off.
Key responsibilities include: • Analysing customer applications and specifying tailored labelling and handling solutions • Managing the full sales cycle from enquiry through to installation • Maintaining CRM records and developing strong long-term relationships • Conducting site visits, demonstrations and installation support where required • Working closely with our engineering, production and service teams to ensure success
---
Ideal candidate
• Minimum 2+ years in technical sales (packaging, automation or machinery desirable) • Strong technical capability, with good analytical and IT skills • Clear, confident communicator with professional presentation ability • Natural problem-solver with the ability to understand complex systems • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK • Degree or equivalent in engineering or business preferred
---
Why join [Employer hidden]?
• Represent a market-leading product range used by major brands across the UK and Europe • Sell technology with a proven reputation for reliability, performance and long-term value • Enjoy autonomy and full ownership of customer projects • Competitive salary with uncapped commission, with a clear and proven potential for successful salespeople to achieve sales turnover and earnings well above industry norms • Company pension plus choice of car allowance or company vehicle • Join a respected engineering business with strong technical heritage and continued growth
