FULL DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Chartered Development Surveyor to join our Development Team within our Newcastle office. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our development services, which include agency, strategic land, valuation, and consultancy work throughout the region.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a Chartered Development Surveyor to join our Development Team within our Newcastle office. Our Development Team forms part of our wider Planning, Architecture and Development Team—a 10-strong multidisciplinary group of chartered planners, surveyors, and architects. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our development services, which include agency, strategic land, valuation, and consultancy work throughout the region. This role will involve working on a wide range of projects, from self-build plots to new urban extensions. The candidate will be chartered, with the ability to support, generate, and secure new work from both existing and prospective clients. It is preferred (but not essential) that the candidate is a registered valuer.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

  • Promote and negotiate the sale of development property
  • Prepare development valuations
  • Assist with the marketing of strategic land
  • Provide commercial advice to clients on development matters
  • Prepare detailed reports for clients
  • Work closely with our planning and architecture team on projects
  • Be RICS qualified
  • Have experience of negotiating option agreements, agency, viability appraisals and other development consultancy matters
  • Can spot and secure development opportunities
  • Be commercially aware and can network, generate work, and build relationships
  • Registered valuer (preferred but not essential)
