FULL DESCRIPTION

At Hill, we build more than homes—we build value into every stage of the development process. As a Contract Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in managing costs, overseeing procurement, and supporting the successful commercial delivery of residential projects.

You’ll work both independently and as part of a wider commercial team—ensuring cost certainty, maintaining accurate reporting, and collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, payments, remeasurements and final accounts
  • Prepare and maintain accurate cost value reconciliations (CVCs), cash flows and contract sum analyses
  • Support the negotiation of client final accounts and ensure effective documentation of change
  • Attend design and coordination meetings, providing commercial insight and risk awareness
  • Collaborate with Technical and Production teams to align commercial and programme goals
  • Ensure compliance with Hill processes, ISO9001 standards, and relevant legislation
  • Mentor junior team members and promote a culture of collaboration and improvement
  • Engage with subcontractors, ensuring timely communication, payments and issue resolution

What we’re looking for:

  • HND/HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction or Building Studies
  • Experience in contract or quantity surveying in residential development
  • Working towards or full membership of RICS or CIOB (preferred)
  • Strong commercial awareness, numeracy and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and Health & Safety requirements
  • Proficient in subcontract documentation, remeasurement, and value engineering
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Familiarity with procurement planning, reporting tools and construction methodology

What you’ll get:

  • 26 days holiday plus bank holidays - with the opportunity to buy and sell more days.
  • Private healthcare and wellbeing platform
  • Hill Incentive Scheme and retail discounts
  • Volunteering days and continuous learning opportunities
  • A high-performing and supportive team culture
