The Business Development Manager at [Employer hidden] Ltd is responsible for leading and developing the company's sales operations from its Manchester office, with a focus on regional and UK-wide growth. This role has been created to support the opening of the Manchester office and the company's expansion from a single-product vape business into a multi-category FMCG distributor.

The role involves direct management of the Manchester-based sales team. The Business Development Manager is responsible for setting sales targets and KPIs, organising sales routes and account coverage, monitoring performance, and providing training and ongoing support to ensure consistent commercial standards across regions.

The role also has responsibility for business development across multiple product categories, including vape products, collectible cards, beauty and personal care products, and toys. This includes planning sales strategies for each category, coordinating new product introductions, supporting category rollouts, and ensuring the sales team can effectively present and sell a diversified product range to different types of retail customers.

The Business Development Manager manages key B2B customer relationships, negotiates commercial terms with strategic accounts, and identifies new sales opportunities in existing and new regions. The role works closely with senior management to provide market feedback, sales forecasts, and recommendations to support ongoing growth.

The role requires a senior level of commercial judgement, the ability to manage people and performance, and experience operating in fast-moving, product-led wholesale environments. It is a full-time management position with strategic and operational responsibility and is not a junior or entry-level sales role.
