About the Role:

We are growing the Data Team at [Employer hidden]. This is a full stack python development role, focused on data. An ideal candidate would have enthusiasm for quantitative data and a drive to understand, model and analyse a variety of datasets, collaborating across a fast paced, multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • Onboard, build and model datasets of varying frequency
  • Explore data, conduct analysis and integrate data into our backtest framework
  • Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers and the wider investment teams
  • Production support for datasets in live trading
  • Ongoing work to grow and develop the system across strategies and regions

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of commercial software engineering experience
  • Strong python programming skills
  • Experience with financial data, ideally equities, derivatives or other tradeable asset classes
  • Experience working with data in quantitative investing and the ability to deliver practical solutions in imperfect data environments
  • Familiarity with numerical python libraries e.g., numpy, pandas and polars
  • SQL experience with any flavour of SQL
  • Experience with version control, test driven development, linux and navigating and working in large codebase
  • Flexibility to work across a variety of areas in a highly collaborative team and take significant ownership of tasks
