Investor Relations Manager

The role involves raising capital from High-Net-Worth individuals, managing investment commitments, and working with the business development team. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales within the EIS/tax efficient space and a passion for innovation and technology.

Reporting to: Head of Capital Raising and Co-Investment

Location: Mayfair, London (Hybrid working model)

Term: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: Competitive salary range with bonus / commission structure

Company Description:

[Employer hidden] (EMVC) is a UK based multi-award-winning VC operating in the deeptech, healthcare, and sustainability sectors in the UK, EU and US.

EMVC combines balance sheet investment with a syndication model, incorporating High Net Worth individuals and IFAs through the EIS channel, as well as family offices and global corporates.

The company has experienced a period of rapid growth, scaling from £4m to over £100m in AUM since 2020 and is targeting the next stage of growth to £200m.

With over 70 portfolio companies, EMVC has grown to be a leader in the UK Deeptech space, and is looking to increase its fundraising capacity to take advantage of opportunities from both within and outside of the current portfolio.

About the role:

As [Employer hidden] continues to grow its VC practice, we have a new and exciting role for an experienced Investor Relations Manager to join us on a full-time basis. This is a high‑visibility fundraising role with responsibility for originating, managing, and closing investment commitments from High‑Net‑Worth and family office investors. We are a collaborative, dynamic and high performing team and are looking for a self-starter that can take on responsibility quickly and operate with minimal supervision to help shape EMVC’s next phase of growth.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Management and the Business Development team, to strengthen and support the firm’s interactions with Ultra /High Net Worth and family office investors. The candidate will also get unique exposure to our exciting portfolio, and work with other parts of the business – providing the opportunity to rapidly learn and develop professionally. This is a role with substantial scope to grow alongside the organisation, reflecting EMVC’s ongoing expansion and increasing fundraising ambitions.

The ideal candidate with have previous experience in a sales role within the EIS/tax efficient space either in house or as a broker. Candidates outside of this space will also be considered providing they have direct investment sales experiences with Ultra / High Net Worth investors.

This role is based in EMV’s London office in Mayfair, which currently operates a hybrid working model with core office days Tuesday - Thursday.

Responsibilities:

  • Raising capital from High-Net-Worth individuals via EIS, CLA’s and secondary opportunities into EMV’s direct opportunities, or diversified fund.
  • Working with the broader team to map out fundraising opportunities
  • Working alongside the deal origination team in developing the investment readiness of the companies
  • Support the development of the fund-raising platform and infrastructure
  • Work closely with [Employer hidden]’s research, portfolio management and management services team

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • A scientific degree (or similar) would be advantageous
  • RDR Level 4 qualifications (or equivalent) preferable
  • Demonstrable track record of fund-raising via EIS.
  • Experience raising funds for life sciences and deeptech companies advantageous
  • Demonstrable experience in building a ‘book’ of investors from origination through to closing
  • Professional and eloquent communicator
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Diligent CRM management (ideally Salesforce)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
