**Senior Quantity Surveyor
Power & Utilities Projects | Scotland (Location Flexible)
£50,000 to £72,000 + car or travel allowance + package**

A major UK main contractor is expanding its commercial capability across Scotland and is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a growing portfolio of projects within their busy and rapidly expanding energy team.
This position offers extensive flexibility with the opportunity to be based anywhere in Scotland with travel to sites in Inverness and Elgin.

The Opportunity

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a pivotal role in the commercial delivery of technically complex infrastructure projects for a key energy client. Working alongside closely with site teams, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be tasked with ensuring projects are closely controlled, compliant and commercially successful.
The role provides exposure to long-term frameworks and high value, complex major projects, offering both stability and the chance to develop specialist skills within the power and utilities sector.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the full end to end commercial management of key projects across the region. Some of you key responsibilities will include:

  • Full commercial management of projects under NEC forms of contract
  • Cost planning, forecasting, reporting and cash flow management
  • Procurement and commercial oversight of subcontractors
  • Assessment and management of change, compensation events and variations
  • Supporting project teams with commercial advice and risk management
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of commercial processes

About You

Senior Quantity Surveyors considering this opportunity will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level
  • In-depth working knowledge of NEC contracts
  • A proactive and detail-focused commercial approach
  • Confidence working across multiple stakeholders and project teams

Candidates with experience of working on large civil engineering and infrastructure projects will be at an advantage.
