FULL DESCRIPTION

Take real control of supplier strategy and directly influence stock availability, cost and margin across a high-value automotive distribution business.

Procurement Manager

£44,000 to £48,000 salary, 25 days holiday, hybrid working

This is an opportunity to step into a senior, trusted procurement role where your decisions genuinely shape how the business performs. You will have the autonomy to manage suppliers, negotiate terms and control sourcing strategy, with clear visibility of the impact you are making.

The role offers hybrid working, with a structured pattern of two and three office-based days on alternate weeks, giving you flexibility while staying closely connected to the wider team.

The opportunity

This is your chance to take ownership of procurement rather than simply processing purchase orders. You will sit at the centre of commercial decision making, working closely with senior leadership to ensure the business has the right products, at the right price, at the right time.

Your work will directly influence margin, service levels and customer satisfaction, particularly on specialist and time-critical orders.

What you will be doing and why it matters

  • Own supplier selection and management, giving you direct influence over pricing, availability and long-term commercial relationships
  • Negotiate pricing and terms so you can improve margins and secure stronger supplier agreements
  • Source parts quickly and efficiently to support urgent and high-value customer requirements
  • Control stock levels alongside warehouse and supply chain teams, helping balance cash flow with availability
  • Track market trends, pricing movements and currency impacts to support smarter buying decisions
  • Provide clear procurement insight and reporting to senior management, raising your profile within the business
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and supplier performance
  • Build trusted internal relationships so procurement is seen as a commercial partner

This is a hands-on role where your judgement, speed and commercial awareness will be relied upon.

What you will bring

This role will suit you if you have:

  • Proven experience in a procurement or buying role within a distribution or product-led environment
  • Strong negotiation skills and confidence dealing with suppliers at all levels
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to balance cost, availability and service
  • The confidence to make decisions and take ownership
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work collaboratively with warehouse, supply chain and senior stakeholders

Why apply

  • £44,000 to £48,000 salary
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Hybrid working with two and three office-based days on alternate weeks
  • High level of autonomy and ownership
  • Direct influence on supplier strategy, stock and margin
  • Exposure to senior leadership and commercial decision making
  • Fast-paced environment where your input is valued and visible
  • Long-term stability within a growing specialist business
