Seeking a friendly, independent self-starter with a genuine interest in horticulture. The apprentice will work closely with the head gardener, learning all aspects of horticulture, including design, installation, and operation of power tools. The role involves assisting the horticulture team, working with various plants and materials, and helping with site preparation and tidying. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits, with a trial period and potential for college education.
The job
- Assisting our horticulture team, working closely with, and learning from our head gardener.
- Learning all aspects of horticulture including how to design and install a range of planting plans.
- As well as horticulture you will also have the opportunity assist in other areas of the company including building fences, gates, sleeper beds, garden sheds, decking and gain experience turfing.
- Working with various kinds of plants, timber, and composite materials.
- Learning how to operate a variety of power tools
- Learning how to be methodical in your work
- Help load the vans in the morning
- Carrying materials and equipment
- Assisting to prep the site
- Helping job tidy up
- Dealing with clients on site
Working week Monday to Friday 7am-4pm
Trial period to decide if you like the job. If it is a rewarding experience, we will back you and put you through college typically being 4 days on the tools 1 day in the classroom
