The role involves managing a team, overseeing residential and commercial gardening projects, and ensuring high-quality service. • The applicant must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of maintaining a mixture of domestic and commercial gardens/grounds to a very high standard along with landscaping and gardening projects.

• Many of our clients require expert advice on planting and garden maintenance schedules therefore you must be proficient in plants, shrubs and lawn assessments and recommendations.

• You must have experience of weekly job planning/scheduling systems and have managed small teams on site at both residential and commercial client sites.

• You will be working directly for the Operations Director and be fully responsible for the specified job, team, health & safety and all aspects of quality assurance and client / customer service.

• You must have a clean and valid driving license alongside the relevant industry standard “tickets”.

• Experience of landscaping would be advantageous along with a robust knowledge of plants.

• You will be required to travel daily to EH16 4UZ as a starting/finishing point.

• Must be flexible to meet client demands over very busy seasonal period.

The duties below form the main areas of responsibility; however these may change over time depending on the needs of the business.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• To liaise with the Operations director in regard to the weekly and daily job schedules, to prepare the appropriate machinery and to then conduct pre-job briefings with the client and the onsite team.

• To undertake and manage all works to a high standard; liaise with clients; take and present instructions and have a “can do” attitude.

• Operate all garden machinery and tools in a safe and competent manor and strim to a high standard. To direct and ensure the same levels of quality and safety from the job-teams that are onsite under your supervision.

• Keep an up-to-date and accurate log of daily operations.

• Be able to advise clients on potential improvements from a horticultural perspective.

• To ensure job completion and feedback information is logged appropriately

• Key garden maintenance tasks for our clients include:

  • Strimming
  • Shrub Pruning
  • Hedge Trimming
  • Lawn Mowing
  • Flower bed maintenance and establishing new landscaped areas with plants, trees, shrubs
  • Weeding
  • Applying a selection of herbicides

Job Type: Permanent, Full time

To apply for this position, you should be able to demonstrate the following background and experience.

Gardening & Supervision:

• Supervisor: 2 years (Required & with references)

Qualifications/Education (equivalents):

• A strong knowledge of plants and grounds maintenance practices

Mandatory Licences (to be produced at interview):

• Clean and full Driving License

• PA1 & PA6 (preferred)

Wage: £13.00- £15.86 per hour (an average week is 43 hours per week. We have a clock in clock out machine, so you are paid for any work over the 40 hour a week contract, lunches are paid)
