We’re seeking Bank Kitchen Assistants to join our friendly team at [Employer hidden]. You’ll provide essential support to our catering service when permanent staff are on leave, helping us maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organised kitchen. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in cleanliness, and wants flexible hours while making a real difference to resident mealtimes.

Responsibilities:

  • Wash all crockery, cutlery, utensils, and kitchen equipment
  • Operate, load, and empty the dishwasher safely and efficiently
  • Assist the Chef with basic food preparation tasks as required
  • Keep the kitchen and food storage areas clean, tidy, and hygienic
  • Lay out trays and support meal service
  • Remove and dispose of kitchen waste promptly and safely
  • Follow strict hygiene, infection control, and Health & Safety procedures
  • Comply with all home policies and procedures
  • Participate in induction and training sessions, including mandatory training
  • Work additional hours when required (with prior agreement)
  • Carry out other reasonable duties to support the smooth running of the kitchen

What we’re looking for:

  • Dependable, enthusiastic, and able to work flexibly
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team
  • Reliable and able to pick up shifts at short notice
  • Previous catering or kitchen experience is helpful but not essential – full training provided
