Structural Engineer

About the role:

We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join a growing design consultancy and provide ongoing technical design support to a range of clients in the UK with ongoing work available and excellent development opportunities for the right individual.

As a Structural Engineer you will be working on a range of residential, commercial and education projects and should be able to demonstrate experience in completing design on projects in these sectors. You will be responsible for the delivery of structural design calculations and sketch details, as well as carrying out drawing checks for general arrangements and reinforced concrete.

Within the role of a Structural Engineer, it will be essential for the chosen individual to complete accurate reports and designs, and your input and contribution to the team are viewed as essential in the continued development of the business. You will need to ensure that all project documentation is produced in accordance with company quality management standards, and collaborate with clients and other members of the wider design team across multiple disciplines to coordinate the design.

About you:

Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience working for UK-based design consultancies, and a background working on similar projects is desired in order to ensure a close match to the existing and upcoming workload.

In addition to having a confident, commercial and professional outlook you should have:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Driving license and own vehicle
• Minimum of 2 years of UK-based experience
• Experience working with Steel, Concrete, Masonry and Timber materials
• Strength in working to British Standards, Eurocodes and relevant design guidance
• Strong analytical, communication and technical design skills
• Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English

Software required:

• AutoCAD
• Tekla Structural Designer
• TEDDS
• Microsoft Office suite
