We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join a growing design consultancy and provide ongoing technical design support to a range of clients in the UK with ongoing work available and excellent development opportunities for the right individual.
About the role:
We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join a growing design consultancy and provide ongoing technical design support to a range of clients in the UK with ongoing work available and excellent development opportunities for the right individual.
As a Civil Engineer, you will be working on a range of residential, commercial and education projects and should be able to demonstrate experience in completing design on projects in these sectors. You will be undertaking technical and feasibility strategies and studies, completing flood risk assessments, writing reports and drawing up plans and details. Experience with SuDS designs is a core part of the role, and completion of designs to mitigate flood risk and water quality issues will be essential in the position. You should have experience developing detailed designs from concept through to construction to comply with relevant regulations, best practices and guidance.
Within the role of a Civil Engineer, it will be essential for the chosen individual to complete accurate reports and designs, and your input and contribution to the team are viewed as essential in the continued development of the business.
About you:
Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience working for UK-based design consultancies, and a background working on similar projects is desired in order to ensure a close match to the existing and upcoming workload.
In addition to having a confident, commercial and professional outlook you should have:
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years of UK-based experience
- Experience working with drainage design and flood risk assessments
- Strength in working to appropriate agreement sections - S38, S278, S104, S106
- Strong analytical, communication and technical design skills
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
Software required:
- AutoCAD
- MicroDrainage/WinDes
- Civils 3D
- Microsoft Office suite
