We are looking for a Building Surveyor to join a growing design consultancy and provide ongoing technical surveying support to a range of clients in the UK with ongoing work available and excellent development opportunities for the right individual.

About the role:

We are looking for a Building Surveyor to join a growing design consultancy and provide ongoing technical surveying support to a range of clients in the UK with ongoing work available and excellent development opportunities for the right individual. You will be assisting with party wall matters, attending meetings and interim site inspections, and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues in a well rounded supportive team environment that rewards individual excellence as well as collectively working towards continuing to provide excellent service to a well-established client base.

As a Building Surveyor, you will be working on a range of residential and commercial projects and should be able to demonstrate experience in completing previous building surveying on projects in these sectors. You will be undertaking condition surveys and preparing reports, taking accurate particulars on site, writing up specifications and schedules of work, and providing design information to support the CAD technicians team in preparing drawing packages.

Within the role of a Building Surveyor, it will be essential for the chosen individual to complete accurate surveys and reports, and your input and contribution to the team are viewed as essential in the continued development of the business. You will also be preparing budgets costs, submitting planning and building control applications and preparing documentation under CDM2015 regulations.

About you:

Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years experience working for UK-based consultancies, and a background working on similar projects is desired in order to ensure a close match to the existing and upcoming workload.

In addition to having a confident, commercial and professional outlook you should have:

  • Degree in Building Surveying from a UK university
  • Minimum of 3 years of UK-based experience
  • Evidenced work experience adhering to CDM regulations 2015
  • Background including Contract Administration (NEC, JCT for example)
  • Strong analytical, communication and technical skills
  • The ability to analyse problems in order to develop solutions
  • Commercial awareness
  • Desire to achieve RICS Chartered status - support will be provided
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
  • Driving licence and own vehicle required
  • A reasonable level or fitness and mobility is required, as the job may involve climbing ladders, working on scaffold and accessing difficult places for the completion of a full survey on properties
