Technical Safety Engineer – Staff – London

Role & Responsibilities

  • The role is working Client side on a large new exciting onshore energy project.
  • Responsible for monitoring Technical Safety and Loss Prevention activities of the FEED contractor on behalf of the Client.
  • Reviewing design and documentation provided by the FEED contractor to ensure compliance with all relevant Safety standards.
  • Co-ordinating with other disciplines to ensure coherent approach by the FEED contractor to all technical safety related matters.
  • Supporting Risk Analysis of the FEED deliverables.
  • Acting as main Client point of contact for technical queries and clarifications.
  • Monitoring delivery of HSE related philosophies.
  • Checking the quality of subcontractor design work to ensure compliance with agreed client design specifications.
  • Analyzing contractors RAM studies for any deviations or anomalies.
  • Participate in relevant meetings, such as HAZID, Design Reviews, Model Reviews.
  • Supporting the vendor management and selection process during the FEED stage.
  • Reporting to the Engineering Manager on FEED contractor performance.

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • Must be Degree qualified in relevant discipline.
  • Chartered status highly advantageous though not essential.
  • Experience of Technical Safety/Loss Prevention within relevant industries (e.g. energy. oil and gas, petrochemicals, etc.)
  • Must have previous experience either working Client side or in a PMC role.
