Job Title: Workshop Manager
Location: Tarporley
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (Day Shift) Holidays: 20 days + Bank Holidays
Job Title: Workshop Manager
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop Manager to lead a team of 6 within a manufacturing environment. This is a key role focused on driving production efficiency, improving processes, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running, taking ownership of workshop operations and leading from the front.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the workshop and team of 6 staff
- Drive production efficiency and ensure output targets are met
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and promote a strong safety culture
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
- Maintain and improve quality standards, working to ISO accreditations
- Support and contribute to mechanical assembly activities as required (hands-on role)
- Monitor performance, provide guidance, and support team development
- Liaise with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and delivery
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role
- Strong understanding of safe working practices
- Experience working to ISO standards/accreditations
- Hands-on background in mechanical assembly
- Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Training & Development
- Minimal initial training – expectation to hit the ground running
- Potential progression into broader operational or quality-focused roles
